When the party arrives in Stormhold, they are held up at the gate and taken into custody by the guards (Dulimor Stormbreaker, captain of the city guard, and Karindin Klaren, his lieutenant), who inform them that outsiders are not welcome in Stormhold, and that they must be detained while their innocence or guilt is ascertained. Only when a dwarven mage (Zelah Tecan) casts Zone of Truth on each of the players and interrogates them to their motives and their purpose in Stormhold, are they allowed to pass into the city after two days of detainment at the city gates.

If a player asks about Captain Dulimor’s clan name:

  • “Six‘undred years ago, when the city still gleam’d, and sprightly elves danced ‘cross their meadows, the Great Storm swept the land. All thought the city would be lost, but not us. Aye, me ancestors took up arms and made a stand atop the city walls with staff and sword. T’was House Hedrigar who stood ‘gainst the storm to protect our people. And e’re since, we’ve held a name of honour, for we did not break ‘neath the storm.”
