Meet the Cast
A Collection of Characters from the Table
Among the following characters, you will find player characters, the BBEGs, as well as major and minor NPCs that the party encountered throughout the course of their travels. From the human kingdoms to the mountain bastions of the dwarves, to the forested city-states of the elves and the dark Indorian Wilds. Most were of my creation, but I couldn’t have brought this world together without plenty of help from my eclectic and eccentric players, both those who stayed and those who drifted away before the story was complete.
Enjoy, and may you always catch your dragons sleeping.
The Party – My Beautiful Chaos Gremlins
Dusk Morningstar
The Mix-Maxxing Cleric Turned Paladin
Dusk Morningstar, a half-elven cleric of the Queen of Twilight, the fey goddess of death and battle. Born to a human bard and his distant elven lover, Dusk spent her childhood in human lands, learning the ways of the Queen of Twilight as she became a cleric in the lady’s service.
When she was a young half-elf of thirty years old, she made a friend of a young Maeka Stohmin, son to a pair of traveling merchants who showed a talent for magic from a young age.
Dusk’s path would take her back to Serenberyl Academy years later to escort Maeka home from the western coast south of the Indorian Wilds to his hometown of Karsthag.
On their path, however, they meet with a mysterious elven warlock, himself traversing the woods on the merchant road.
Little did they know, their paths would soon cross again.
Maeka Stoh’min
The Wizard Who Pretended His AC Didn’t Suck
Born to human parents in Eastern Danterin, Maeka spent much of his life on the road, learning the merchant trade, a deft touch, and the arts of magic from traveling wizards and magical tagalongs during their travels along the king’s road between Karsthag and Vyrefall.
By the age of fourteen, Maeka was accepted to Serenberyl Academy, a prestigious school down along the Sapphire Coast, where he would spend the next fifteen years honing his talents and studying the mysteries of arcane magic, with a particular interest in chronurgy, the manipulation of time and fate.
His path would be fraught with peril, however, as several brushes with death would leave the young wizard changed forever, touched by a winter goddess, a dark power, and a transformation he never asked for, but learned to embrace in time.
Artus Longforge
The Dwarf Who Licks Everything
Artus Longforge, born to the affluent Longforge clan of Nol Turum, Artus was raised with strict principles. Use your wits and your skills to their fullest extent to add to one’s personal and familial wealth. A lesson that the young artificer took to heart long ago and has molded his life around ever since.
Artus joins the party in Karsthag, where he opts to take on the life of an adventurer, where he sees great opportunity to profit from delving into old ruins and slayer monsters for profit.
He proves an able companion to Dusk and Maeka, concerning himself with provisioning the party and seizing every opportunity to collect resources and make deals along their path through the Lantis Valley and into the dwarven mountain cities of Nol Turum and Stormhold.
After many victories and a months-long path across Danterin, Artus retires from active adventuring in order to use his growing fortune and a windfall of land granted by Prince Tyrin to build a castle home for himself and his companions.
Onka
The Ceiling Cat Monk
A cartographer by trade (and gleeful bane of a DM’s existence), Onka came from a continent to the west in search of new adventures and exploration in her pursuit to chart as much of the known world as she could.
She first encounters the party in the Indorian Wilds, where she predicts a battle between Dusk, Maeka, Artus, their new allies, and a small horde of magical screaming mushrooms within the northern reaches of the Indorian Wilds.
After the battle, seeing traveling and safety opportunities in joining the traveling adventurers, Onka joins the eclectic assortment of warriors on their mission to revive their fallen wizard, lending her expertise in navigation and the mysterious traditions of her monastic order until such a time as their paths part ways again.
After Maeka’s revival at the hands of Elaceran Star-Gazer, the leader of the druidic circle within the moving treant city of Omarel, she joins the paladin Kai on his adventures across Eriathra, carrying out the will of his master, Balor, the Lord of Light and king of Avalon.
Atreya
The Warlock Enchantress
A devoted warlock contracted to the Queen of Twilight, Atreya is a scholarly high elf from the Isles of Avalon, with a companion in the mystical tabaxi wizard, Schroner. Though born in the mortal elven lands, she has lived nearly all of her life in the unageing world of the Feywild, where she learned magic from the goddess of magic herself and contracted herself to her patron in exchange for knowledge, and set upon a quest for further knowledge to further her Lady Morrighan’s aims.
Her quest brought her to the mortal realm, where she found a kindred spirit in Dusk, a cleric of her lady and a knight of her lady’s chosen king. However, though her quest drove her forward, devastating battles cost Atreya her oldest and dearest friend.
Atreya would go on to become the party’s foremost master of enchanting, procuring materials and providing enchanted gems for damage, resistance, and various spell effects to bolster the party’s strength as they chased the Queen of Twilight’s enemies across the lands on Aien’s misguided crusade to bring down the gods of Avalon for imagined slights.
Tranquility
The Starry Hotbox Druid
Born in the elven lands, Vair Llewelyn left his home at a young age when his more unusual features began overtaking his once elven face. Cursed with the blood of devils in a line already ostracized by the actions of their ancestor, Cenwyn Llewelyn, and his dark machinations aiding the wizard Lathlaeril Elbalor in the wizard’s pursuit for eternal life, the family’s fortunes fell, and Vair left in search of a different life.
Naming himself Tranquility, the virtue he hoped would guide his life, the young gruid made his way to the Indorian Wilds, where he found his way to the city of Omarel, where a circle devoted to the reading of the stars resided.
Adopted by the ancient firbolg druid, Elaceran Star-Gazer, Tranquility learned many a secret art in the leafy home of his new family, applying his new knowledge rather curiously when strange outsiders came to the city in search of help.
With Tranquility’s help, the party obtained the aid they needed to resurrect their fallen companion, the wizard Maeka, before making a discreet exit to continue his wanderings.
Schroner
A Tabaxi Wizard with No Survival Instincts
A sly little magical cat from the Feywild, Schroner would join the party alongside Atreya, his lifelong companion, and the warlock who raised him from only a kitten and taught him magic in the mystical isles of Avalon.
Curious and mischievous from a young age, Schroner would become a chaotic addition to the party, always in search of knowledge and power as any good wizard must be.
However, Schroner’s story would come to a tragic end during a pitched battle of attrition with a revenant and its horde where, after choosing violence over stealth and a terrifying display involving three holy fireballs, Schroner was struck with a spell that disintegrated the poor magical cat on the spot.
After the battle, his ashes would be gathered and carried by Atreya in a locket to remember the excitable wizard with whom she had spent many years. For curiosity had killed the cat.
Lilith
A Horned Giant with an Aberrant Disposition
A mutated and horned goliath found wandering the Indorian Wilds, Lilith came upon the party after discovering that they sought a cure for the blighted affliction that was slowly chipping away at Maeka’s newly regained life.
As a self-taught druid, Lilith would prove to be a powerful and useful ally, bringing with her a transformative nature never seen before. Where ordinary druids might take on the forms of beasts and smaller animals, Lilith’s corruption as a result of her ties to the dragon god of creation, Eriathra, who was corrupted by necromantic rituals that returned the dead god to life, imbued Lilith with a kinship for the stranger beasts of the wilds instead.
A shy and anxious woman around others, she proved herself a ferocious fighter in the face of injustice, joining the party’s fight against Lathlaeril Elbalor, the dark wizard whose magic raised Eriathra from the dead and corrupted the dragon to his will. Tragically, Lilith lost her life bringing Elbalor to his death.
Morenros Abein
The Drow Knight-Enchanter
Indoctrinated into servitude, Morenros was taken in by the cult of the Brotherhood of the Seven Stars some years before the raising of Aien’s compatriots from their sarcophagi scattered across the heartland of the continent.
Brainwashed and enchanted, Morenros’s wife and daughter were taken from him, and Morenros himself made into a sacrifice for Aien’s own power.
Morenros’s rescue was an unintended consequence of Dusk, Maeka, Artus, and Atreya’s foray into an ancient temple outside the city of Vyrefall, following a trail of kidnapped women from the surrounding countryside to an ancient mountain fortress, where the adventurers proved to be an unwelcome interruption to Aien’s plans.
Freed, but forced to cut down his own wife and daughter, twisted by Aien’s magic into monsters to serve his own cause, Morenros joined these rescuers reluctantly, seeking to join them only because he saw them as the most expedient path to wreak vengeance upon his former master for his loss.
Morenros would disappear mysteriously after the battle to destroy Aien and his allies, never to be seen again. It would forever be unknown what his fate might be, but rumours persist that a dark elf knight ventured into the mountains north of Vyrefall and never returned.
Kai Blackfyre
The Summer Knight
It is said that five legendary swords exist, each one gifted to a chosen champion of Balor, the Lord of Light, to serve as his paladins, his hands with which to touch the world and guide its people.
Born in the eastern lands past the Greenwood and over the barrier mountains protecting the elven cities from the rest of the continent, Kai left his comfortable life behind and sword himself into the service of Balor, the Lord of Light. At a young age, he was gifted the sacred blade Can Seren, and proceeded to begin a journey across the continent to extinguish darkness wherever he could find it.
With longevity granted by his god, Kai would proceed to spend the next several decades traveling the land doing Balor’s will, bringing light, courage, and mercy to places sorely lacking it.
He would cross paths with the party several times on their journeys, coming to their rescue when they were in need, and bolstering their battle strength with the powers of a fully trained paladin of the Lord of Light.
After Maeka’s revival, Kai would go on to take Onka on as a traveling companion, wherein the two would roam across the land, with the young monk mapping every corner illuminated by Kai’s radiant powers.

Davion Rainier
Title Here
Davion’s heroics began as a young soldier in the army of King Iagan Dovhain of Danterin. Coming from a family of common but dedicated soldiers, Davion was long-expected to rise to become a captain in the ranks of the king’s army.
However, his father’s plan for his life fell into chaos after an assassination attempt on King Lyrus Dovhain killed three of the king’s five sons and left the ageing king ailing in bed.
Davion would find himself assigned to a small force of knights and guardsmen set to protect one of the two remaining heirs to King Lyrus’s throne, Prince Iagan.
While serving in the prince’s retinue, Davion would grow a friendship and trusted partnership with Ser Garen Iorleth, the son of an arl and a knight in the service of Prince Iagan, and one of the prince’s oldest friends.
It was Garen who brought Davion into the prince’s private world, beginning the formation of the inner circle that would follow Prince Iagan through his life and later into kingship. Thus, it was only natural that Iagan would ask Davion to accompany him on a journey to track down his family’s killers.
Davion’s patience, however, would be put to the test with the addition of Ethros Arani to the prince’s entourage. A half-elven sorcerer with more practical experience than the three of them combined, charming and unapologetic, and entirely too fond of teasing young knights who had better things to do than entertain flighty mages.
It would not be until a storm overtook their party during the pursuit of the royal killers that Davon grew to understand the depths of Ethros’s commitment to their cause. For it was Ethros who held back the storm, and Ethros who used herbalism and alchemy to nurse Davion and their companions back to health.
Ethros Arani
The Stormwarden of Danterin
Born in the port city of Vyrefall to a human mother and absent elven father, Ethros discovered his magical talents young and applied to study at Serenberyl Academy on the Sapphire Coast south of Danterin, separated from his homeland by the dark and mysterious forests of the Indorian Wilds.
After returning from his education in the south, Ethros would join the Moonstone Conclave as a researcher and an acquirer of rare ingredients, both for the Moonstone Conclave and the Crimson Daggers, a local group of thieves who operated out of the city’s port.
Ethros began his adventuring career fighting giants, wyrms, and even thwarting the efforts of bandits on the road who would mistake him for a merchant or simple scholar.
However, some weeks after the attempted assassination of King Lyrus, Ethros was approached by a young lord, Garen Iorleth, one of the knights assigned to the protection of Prince Iagan. At the behest of the prince, Ser Garen sought out the half-elven sorcerer whose apparent youth hid the experience of thirty years of magical study and fifteen years of dangerous adventures.
Eager for a new challenge and intrigued by the proposition of a prince whose family had just been killed, Ethros agreed to aid Prince Iagan. On one condition.
Ethros reached out to an old friend, Vikar, a young thief that he had known since the boy was a child. For Ethros brought to the prince’s inner circle something none else could. Iagan, Garen, and Davion were young. Strong and well-trained, yes, but inexperienced. Ethros, however, knew the benefits of secrecy, of silence, of being able to slip into the shadows and of being able to pick every lock between Vyrefall and Haleon.
The sorcerer would prove to be the heart of their circle, speaking both charmingly and frankly to his young
